Numerous Benefits of Family Dentistry
Let’s start with the basics: what family dentistry really is. It’s a type of dental care that doesn’t just focus on specific needs like your own tooth replacement or gum disease treatment. But it’s not just a “general dentist’s” office either. Family dentistry offers services for the whole family, yes, but it does so with a focus on really getting to know you… and making it as easy as possible to care for the smiles of everyone in your crew. From your littlest smile to great grandma and grandpa’s dental needs, everyone will feel welcome and at-ease in an excellent family dentist’s office.
The benefits of choosing a family dentist like us here at ACE Dental are significant. They include…
A wide range of services are offered, from basic checkups and cleanings to tooth replacement, periodontal care, and even select cosmetic treatments that let healthy teeth truly sparkle.
Convenience is built right into our care, so you can schedule a block appointment for you, your partner, and your children to have everyone’s checkups and cleanings taken care of at the same time.
Walk-in appointments are also welcome when you just cannot schedule time to visit the dentist.
However, we do offer extended office hours and are also open on Saturdays to help make it easier to schedule dental care into your life.
As a family dentist, we know how important affordability is on a tighter budget, so we are sure to accept dental insurance as well as CHIP and Medicaid.
Children who may be a little nervous in new environments are usually more comfortable visiting a dentist they know their whole family trusts as well.
Our team of doctors at staff are highly experienced in providing dental care for patients of all ages to help make sure that everyone feels comfortable and right at home when they visit our office.
Visiting a family dentist helps make dentistry become a family affair, meaning everyone is more likely to want to keep up with their healthy, happy smiles!
It All Starts With Prevention
It is always easier to keep a problem from developing in the first place than it is to fix one once it has had the chance to develop. Every good dentist begins all treatment plans with a heavy focus on preventive dental care, and the same is certainly true of the family dentists at ACE Dental. Our team of doctors will start every patient out with a thorough examination and cleaning, then recommend follow-up visits as necessary.
Most patients should visit the dentist for routine care every six months, at least. More frequent appointments may be necessary for those who are at a higher risk of developing cavities or gum disease, like people who smoke or are more prone to plaque and tartar buildup.
During a checkup and cleaning, our hygiene team will thoroughly remove all plaque and tartar that has had the chance to build up around your teeth since the last visit. We will also look for evidence of gum disease, like pockets of bacteria (i.e. “periodontal pockets”) that form between the teeth and gums. If this or any other issue is detected, a plan for treatment will be put together as soon as possible.
Friendly Children’s Dentistry
Children require a special approach in dental care, as they may be nervous in a new environment or a little reluctant to have someone they just met poke and prod around their mouth. As experienced family dentists, the team at ACE Dental knows well what can help children have a positive experience at the dentist’s office. It starts with taking a warm and friendly approach to dental care, beginning from the moment they walk through the door. Then, through routine checkups and cleanings, we can help them avoid cavities and other oral issues to ensure they only have the most positive experiences at the dentist’s office.
We can use these additional preventive treatments to help your child’s smile stay healthy on the way to adolescence and into adulthood:
Dental sealants, or thin, translucent coverings that shield the molars and premolars from bacteria and food particles that cause tooth decay. Dental sealants are applied within minutes at the end of a checkup and cleaning and can provide years of protection against cavities.
Topical fluoride treatments to strengthen the tooth enamel and protect against the formation of weak spots that eventually turn into cavities. Fluoride has proven to be safe and highly effective for children’s tooth enamel.
