Transforming Smiles with Dental Crowns & Fixed Bridges

Happy couple smiling after dental crowns treatmentIs one of your teeth cracked or chipped? Are you missing a tooth as a result of disease, decay, or an injury? Dr. Aditi Gupta and our team provide restorative help with a dental crown or fixed bridge. These tried-and-true solutions restore your smile’s strength and beauty, so you face the world with renewed confidence.

What Are Dental Crowns?

A dental crown is a restoration designed to improve the strength and beauty of a decayed or broken tooth. They can be made from a combination of porcelain and metal or even gold, but our Belton, Temple, Harker Heights, Killeen, Waco and Taylor dental teams prefer to use all-ceramic crowns when possible. All-ceramic crowns are durable and have an appearance that closely matches that of natural enamel.

Our Dental Crown Process

In most cases, we complete a full crown treatment in just two visits. During the first, Dr. Aditi Gupta and our team prepares the tooth, and takes an impression of it. We use this impression as a guide for our personalized crown design.

At the end of your first appointment, we attach a temporary crown to protect your tooth while our lab creates your final restoration. When your final crown is ready, you return to our dental office to have it attached.

Replacing Teeth with Fixed Dental Bridges

If you need to replace a single missing tooth, our team would be happy to talk with you about replacing it with a fixed bridge. A fixed bridge is a restoration that combines a custom-made replacement tooth with one or more dental crowns. These crowns, known as abutment crowns, are placed over existing teeth, and serve to stabilize the entire prosthetic.

As with a crown procedure, a bridge typically takes just two visits to complete. In the first, our dental teams prep your abutment teeth, and place temporary crowns over them. When our lab has finished your personalized bridge, you’ll return to our practice to have it permanently attached.
