Not to mention, depending on the emergency, you need immediate treatment to preserve the tooth while reducing the risk for long term damage. Unfortunately, most Americans don’t know how to handle a dental emergency, which is why you need a dentist who offers emergency services to help you in your time of need. Treating Common Dental Emergencies

A dental emergency can take many forms, making it difficult to determine what’s an actual emergency. We offer treatment for the most common dental emergencies, including a knocked out or broken tooth, loss of a temporary crown, and severe tooth pain. We have a number of treatments available to quickly and effectively stop the discomfort while repairing the damage.

Knocked Out Tooth

Among the top emergencies is a knocked out tooth from trauma or injury. This is a very scary experience, which can often cause a sense of panic. If you have a tooth knocked out, it’s important not to panic. If you act fast, there is a good chance we are able to implant the tooth, allowing it to be saved. If your tooth has been knocked out, try to reinsert it back into the socket while you head to the dentist. If that’s not possible, it’s important not to let the tooth try out. Place the tooth in a cup of milk or even place it in between your cheek and jaw to keep it moist. Don’t wrap it in a towel or use chemicals to clean it.

Broken Teeth

A broken tooth can be caused from a number of factors, but always result in pain. If you’ve broken a tooth, try to find as many of the pieces as possible. Rinse your tooth with water or place the tooth in milk to help preserve the tooth while you head to the dentist. Use cold compresses to help relieve the pain and swelling.

Painful Toothache

A toothache can develop quickly and for various reasons. If you have a toothache, first check to make sure there is nothing stuck in the gums near the tooth and check the tooth for damage. If the pain persists or worsens, contact us immediately so we can work to address the cause of the pain.

At ACE Dental, we strive to provide the responsive and effective services you need from a walk-in dentist in Belton. We cater to a number of dental emergencies; however, if you’ve suffered an injury that’s bleeding excessively or think you may have a broken jaw, you will need to head to your nearest emergency room.
